What happen to Abbondanza-Westport?

I swear i drove by not long ago and it was thriving. The place is empty and a "for Lease" sign is up.

Abbondanza is moving into the old La Colline Verte/Fraich space in Fairfield's Greenfield Hill shopping center. They have been painting and renovating to get ready. Looking forward to the opening this summer!

They were not doing well and closed just a few weeks ago. Apparently the owners are looking to open a dinner only restaurant in Fairfield in the near future and are working on a deal. Location is under wraps from what I heard...

Eh that's not what I heard.

Abbondanza's rent space was up and Westport's location was too expensive. Abbondanza IS opening in Fairfield around June-July supposedly altho location is under wraps.

I actually think Abbondanza and Bonda (its weekend only restaurant) are both quite good for Westport standards.

Ummm...what I said is really not much different than what you said...maybe not doing well equals rent is too expensive...either way, they are moving to a place in fairfield that is under wraps...and I heard it from someone who spoke directly to the owner...and he said they were opening a dinner only restaurant.

Maybe they're going into the old Chat-n-Chew location, next to Devan Infiniti?
