Hundreds of Wineries are Listed as Restaurants -- Correctable Error?
In Restaurants and Bars, wineries are listed as restaurants. Few serve any food that could be considered a meal.
Those who don't know better think these wineries are dining establishments. The presence of hundreds of wineries on the San Francisco Bay Area Board alone clogs the actual restaurant listings. Perhaps begin a new category within Restaurants & Bars called Wineries?

Winery is an option in the 'Type' section, so they can be relabeled by anyone who knows which ones need relabeling.

Many are checked off as wineries already in the "type" section. However, they still display as "Restaurants" when you look at the search results which is misleading.
Edited to add: The display seems to feed off the "primary cuisine" field. I'm referring to the notation on the right side in line with the establishment name on the results that show when you "select all" to see the R&Bs in a region that shows cuisine if one has been selected or defaults to "restaurant" if one has not. In the case of wineries, there is no cuisine option that is appropriate, so it shows them all as "restaurants". This is a problem if someone does a search for Healdsburg, CA, for example, and is lead to believe that a dinner can be had at the many wineries that will appear in the search result identified as "restaurants". If a "winery" option on the pull down menu could be added there, that might take care of the problem. Then someone would need to go in and manually change the 200+ wineries in the database. Or fix it so that both "type" and "primary cuisine" display, as in most cases there would be no primary cuisine selected except in the case of caterers or food carts.
