Streetgourmetla of chowhound fame mentioned in Travel & Leisure
Page 92 of the May issue of Travel & Leisure credit's Streetgourmetla's chowhound and personal blog posts and their best source for Ensenada - going so far as to suggest that Baja Tourism should put this guy (Bill Esparza) on retainer. http://idek.net/1Mim . Way to go Chowhound and Bill!
How cool is that? VERY! Really nice going, Bill.
Note, don't copy the period after the link above or it won't work. :)
Next, T&L should hit up Veggo for Playa del Carmen and environs...
Bill aka streetgourmetla has been a godsend to the LA board for his knowledgeable insight on various Latin cuisines, particularly Mexican and Brazilian foods. He's the go-to guy for anything south of the border. I'm sure if he concentrated on any other areas, he'd be the expert on those cuisines as well. He's smart, keen but humble and very approachable. My kind of Chowhound - well-deserved props to streetgourmetla.
Bill's "Los Quesotraficos..." thread from a couple years ago was recently bumped and is again on the first page of the Mexico board. Hysterical. If I may borrow from Jerry Jeff Walker's "L.A. Freeway" song, I don't know how he got off that (Ensenada) freeway without gettin' killed or caught....
Thanks Kattyeyes, and yes, agreed, Veggo is the man in the Yucatan.
As always bulavinka, you're a gracious person. Thanks for your support. Means a lot from such a respected chouwhounder as you are.
Veggo, the party just doesn't stop. Had another run this past weekend. Five of us, including a chef from LA did 40+ courses, 15 tacos, 15 bottles of wine, 4 wine tasting in the Valle de Guadalupe, 3 cocktails, some beer..........and a shot of mezcal at Manzanilla.
And, thanks to my friend bsalt for the shout out. Everyone! Get thee to Baja.
