Wrentham - anything promising?

itryalot Apr 20, 2010 05:20 PM

Will be in Wrentham, MASS for two days for a training event at Luciano's Lake Pearl. Please help for evenings and lunch. What to do? Where to go? Is there a gourmet take out place or grocer?

I had a very nice meal of freshly prepared dim sum at Mai Pearl in neighboring Foxboro. I found it from a thread found here:

And here's a photo from some of our order.

OK. Considering going to Boston for one night; worth it or not? Anything on any of the lakes?

Don't overlook your Providence RI choices as well. It's closer to Wrentham than Boston. About a 1/2 hour, Boston over 45min.

It's not gourmet, but Michael's Deli on Shears St. in Wrentham is very close to your location. They make decent sandwiches and have other hot foods available for takeout. If you go south on Rt. 1 you'll come to the Chieftain Pub, in Plainville - not gourmet but has very good food at good prices. it's just south of the intersection of Rts. 1 and 106. Heading north on Rt. 1 will bring you to Patriot Place in Foxboro, home of the New England Patriots. It's a big complex with shopping, movies, and many restaurants including some that are more upscale than the ones I've mentioned. Have fun!

Patriot Place. There is a Five Guys, and I had a decent meal at CBS Scene which is a fun place.Red Robin, too. For good fried clams go to the Red Wing north of the stadium. Not far from Wrentam is Incontro in Franklin. Keep going to Bridgewater for Poutine at Montreal French Fries(get bagels).

OK, I was just trying to find out some info today on Montreal French Fries. As I initially understood it, they closed. Later, I heard that they were going to reopen. The website was not functioning today, so if it is open I would be happy for some info. For the poster below, there are no lakes in Boston!

Sorry, the two lakes near Wrentham, Lake Pearl is the one where our three day event will be held.

We would even drive within 30 mins for supper.
