Hey there -

There's all these great looking spots along Ocean Ave in Santa Monica. But my wallet is slimmish these days...

Any of y'all hounds out there know any good chowish happy hours on Ocean? I seem to recall one hotel bar offered $4 sushi from 4-7 PM.... other than that, I'm stumped.

Ocean Ave has a number of great restaurants & bars offering Happy Hour. Chez Jay is a great local joint with $5 beer, wine & appetizers everyday from 4:30pm-6:00pm. Hotel Shangri-La is offering a new Sunset Happy Hour Friday Nights from 5:00pm-10:00pm. The Lobster has appetizers from $2-$6 or you can get a $2.50 domestic draft or $3.50 house margarita at Rusty's Surf Ranch.

Second Fraiche as well as La Cachette Bistro. They have a great happy hour and its right on Ocean. Sushi Roku also has a decent happy hour with good grub.

I enjoyed Copa D'Oro the other night...200 block of Broadway. I also use this site to research/remind myself of local happy hours: http://www.santamonica.com/visitors/w...

          Anisette Brasserie does one, too.

About a block off of Ocean, towards the Promenade. There are also a few places on the Promenade that do a happy hour, including Fraiche.

I cugini has a decent happy hour in the bar area only.
$10 will get you a glass of chianti and a beef carpaccio or pizza.

Bar Pintxo, which is about a block from Ocean, has a happy hour daily from 4-6pm. $4 wines/sangria, $1.50 Stella (half pint) and 6 for $6 tapas.

5th Amendment Alehouse has a happy hour (which I think runs all night?), offering a few beers for $3 (IIRC) and I think a couple wines for $4 (?). The first time I went, I had a relatively poor experience, but I went back a couple weeks ago, and actually enjoyed myself.

Not right on Ocean but less than a block in, the Yard on Broadway has a decent happy hour.

Ocean Ave Seafood has a happy hour from 4 to 6 pm Mon-Fri. They have great oysters which sometimes are part of happy hour deals.

I second Ocean Ave Seafood...it has been a few months since I have been, but they have "happy hours" oysters special with a glass of wine for a very reasonable price!
