Travelling with picky eaters!
Will be in SF this summer on a family vacation and looking for restaurant suggestions that cater to 2 children that are not food adventurous, and really just prefer burgers. Do not need a 5 star place, but also do not want your run of the mill national accounts. Any place in Chinatown that offers a "kids" menu. Staying in and around Fisherman's Wharf. Thanks.
Great Eastern has chow mein, fancier stuff for the adults and fish tanks for the kids to look at depending on their age. For a change from burgers and more fun for you how about meatball sandwiches at Mario's Bohemian Cigar Store in North Beach in walking distance of FW, about 3/4 mile.

I know you said no chains, but there is a Rainforest Cafe in Fisherman's Whart. Also, my kids like eating at Boudin Bakery - there are tables outside where you can people and bird watch, or you can sit inside - the kids like watching the chain of breads up on the ceiling circle around.
First, there's an In 'n Out Burger in the Wharf area. Lots of people swear by this regional chain. Also near the Wharf is Fog City Diner, which serves upscale diner-inspired fare.
For a restaurant in Chinatown that's kid friendly, I would suggest Capital. It's sort of a coffee shop that serves American food but also surprisingly well-executed Cantonese specialties. Your kids (not to mention you) might like the fried chicken wings, which are amazing. It's super cheap, so you could order some Chinese for yourself and whatever for the kids.
