Making reservations in NOLA for someone else? Torture!

Good luck with trying to get reservations with it being jazz fest as well as whatever conventions are going on.

I just snagged a couple of reservations for next weekend and I had to call in a couple of favors to do that.

Ooohhh, right. Jazz Fest. Forgot about that roro. Yes, good luck, indeed.

        August for dinner
        Commanders for brunch
Snug Harbor for jazz club dinner

I"m sure others will chime in, but my recommendations would include:
          - Brigtsen's for dinner
          - Commander's Palace for Sunday jazz brunch...see how I hit two needs in one swoop?

This is what i was able to get last minute, give opinion or best dishes if possible: Antoine's, Arnaud's for brunch, Grill Room, and Galatoire's. Good??

Word on Arnaud's has been very negative lately on here. Galatoire's reservations are for the upstairs room which is not the crazy room (that's downstairs, no reservations) but still a very traditional look at NOLA cuisine. Antoine's is also mega-traditional, maybe a good option but also kind of fossilized. I'm thinking Galatoire's is probably the best option of that list. They could always ask if there's a downstairs table available when they arrive....
