ISO: Clams With Black Bean Sauce recipe

I had some amazing Clams with Black Bean Sauce at a Cantonese place in Vancouver, B.C. lately and want to make it at home in a city devoid of any authentic Chinese restaurants. I've searched for some recipes online but they all seem to be lacking promise. Does anyone have a tried and true recipe they'd like to share?

  1. What is it in these recipes you are looking at seem to lack promise?
    I find the most important thing with clams and black bean sauce besides the black bean is a lot of garlic and thinly sliced jalapenos and I guess "wok hei" which makes food taste all the better.
