What to order at Restaurant Alma? - Dad's birthday

Hi folks,

I'll be in Minnesota to celebrate my dad's big birthday this Saturday, and we have reservations at Restaurant Alma. It'll be our first time there - four of us - and I would really appreciate any suggestions on what to order from their current menu: http://www.restaurantalma.com/menu.aspx

We don't usually splurge on meals like this, so I want to make it well worth it! I think we'll probably get two vegetarian tasting menus and two meat tasting menus, so recommendations covering the full gamut of apps, middle courses, entrees, and desserts would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

  1. I haven't been to Alma recently, and the menu changes often, but a friend who was there for dinner this weekend was raving about the beef carpaccio, which I actually don't see on the menu. He also said they tried both the pasta with rabbit and the pasta with saffron, and the duck and pork appetizers. He didn't have a single bad thing to say about the meal.

    1. One idea if you have an adventurous group:

One time there with a group of 4 we each took the tasting menu and each ordered a different thing from each category. Se we each ordered a different starter, middle course, entree and dessert. Then we shared. We were each able to taste almost everything on the menu that way.
