Rehearsal Dinner...Help Two Young, Cash-Strapped Kids in Love!!
Chowhounders -- please come to our rescue!
My fiance and I are trying to plan our wedding rehearsal dinner, but can't seem to stumble upon the right place. We're big foodies, but for this dinner we're looking to save $$ more than indulge in the finer things in life. We're thinking somewhere with a private room that'll charge below $65 per head. Extra special bonus points for something cheaper! About 60 people in total. We definitely want a casual vibe to the place...nothing stuffy and -- good god -- no white table clothes. In terms of cuisine, we're pretty open. Has to be in Manhattan. Would be for a Friday night in late October.
And...that's about it. Please hit us with any and all suggestions and keep us from pulling our hair out whilst dealing with our respective future in-laws!

Try Kefi on the upper west side (greek). They have a room downstairs that is super cozy that is available for private parties.
No white table cloths! Casual and cozy, and the food is terrific (homey, earthy, yet elevated). And they have a variety of price points to choose from for private events. They definitely have options in that price range.

Try one of the private rooms at Congee Village or Congee Bowery. I threw a party for my mom's 60th at Congee Bowery and it was a huge hit with the foodies, a fun location, and easy on the wallet.
