Restaurant recommendation for gift certificate in East Bay
I was thinking Oliveto or Chez Panisse, but only want to spend about $75-100...and I'm not sure it will go far enough at either of those restaurants. Does anyone have other recommendations or suggestions? I don't know too much about the personal preferences of the recipient, so something "safe" would be preferable, but I also want it to be considered a treat. Thanks in advance.

Hmm, if you're thinking Oliveto or Chez Panisse but not quite that expensive, maybe Dopo or Pizzaiolo? I've gotten out of both for $100 for two people easily.

I don't think Gather or eVe are quite at the same treat level, myself. A Cote has more of a special evening vibe.
