DC Steakhouse? Top notch, but where I can eat at the bar

Doesn't have to be super-casual (or super-fancy, for that matter), but just looking for an excellent place where I can enjoy relaxing meal-for-one barside.

Capitol Grille downtown? Or Charlie Palmer.

Charlie palmer's. Great steak, nice bar with good tending. Try the mini lobster corndogs.

I'm going to disagree with everyone and send you to Bourbon Steak at the Four Seasons, because they have one of the best bars (and cocktail menu) in the city. Amazing bartenders, plus it's good celebrity watching.

Honestly, you can eat at the bar at any steakhouse in town. My only warnings would be for The Capital Grill and The Palm, in which you may have to fight for bar space. Relaxing? -maybe Charlie Palmer or Smith & Wollensky.

I'd add J&G to the do not go list - tiny bar and downstairs. Crowded, dark and loud.

Great food but the atmosphere ruins it at the bar.

I would go to the Prime Rib (although gentlemen have to wear a jacket) or Charlie Palmer's.
