Asheville NC - I 26 route chow place that is easy to find

Since I40 from Knoxville to Asheville is closed by rock slide, detour means coming into Asheville on the north to connect with I26 towards Spartanburg. What chow places are easy to get to to get a quick lunch?

Sunny Point Cafe is highly recommended. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served all day until 5PM. It's 5/6 blocks west of I 26/240 @ Exit 2.

    Sunny Point Cafe @ 626 Haywood Rd., Asheville, NC. 828) -252 - 0055.

that's where I would go too, but it won't be a quick lunch if the OP is traveling on the weekend. 20-45 minutes wait are common on Saturday.

Sunny Point is definitely on my list for my May trip and it won't be on a Saturday so maybe the wait wont be so long. Thanks.

even weekdays are fairly busy at peak lunch hours, especially if the weather is nice. newly expanded outdoor seating might help that. if you can get there ~11:30a or wait until 1:00p, it should go pretty quick.

Any place in Asheville that easy to get to off of I-40 is also easy to get to off of I-26...its not that big. I-26 runs into I-240 which goes right by downtown. Tupelo Honey, 12 Bones (not downtown, but close by), Fig...if you do a search you'll find others.

Agreed. You are going to pass right by downtown, so any place there would be convenient, as well as West Asheville and Biltmore Village - lots of options there too. So basically any of the highly recommended places in Asheville are going to be close to I-26/I-240. For lunch, I'd look at Sunny Point in West Asheville (exit 2 off 240, drive a few blocks when you take a right off the exit), anything you find that looks good when you do a search on downtown (Early Girl, Laughing Seed and Mela are three of our favorites), and Tupelo Honey (but maybe the new location on the south end - it is equally as delicious and it's much larger so you won't have a wait (exit #37 Long Shoals Road off 26, take a left off exit, left onto Hendersonville Road and TH is a few lights down on the left.)
