Pizza cooking for kids in Forest Hills...a lot of fun!

Passed by this place a million times, but didn't really know what it was, until today. My son was invited to a birthday party, at Young Chef's academy of Forest Hills--and he had such a blast...Often times posters inquire about spaces available for parties, etc--and this was pretty cool--big group of kids together, being taught about kitchen hygiene, different cooking methods..they each made their own pizza, with homemade dough--learned to roll it shape it, knead it, cooked it, and ate it...they get to color their own chef hats, wear aprons..very well run place..and totally deceiving from the outside, because inside it's window light from back and so bright and cheery--great idea spot for birthday parties, or cooking classes or cooking camp which they offer for kids starting at age 4. Was very impressed with their setup and their control over the kids, and organization..think it might be a good way for kids to be more open to eating certain foods if they cook them themselves--I asked about the cooking classes and they make all sorts of stuff--so, it's not just pizza and ice cream like at the parties...thought I'd pass along the link for parents of young ones in Queens, because it's hard to find an interesting spot for them like this...http://www.youngchefsacademy.com/stor...

Not sure how pricey the parties are, although they do provide everything--but the classes seemed fairly reasonable--and very educational.

also, forgot to mention they had issues of edible queens, had no idea that this site had gone to print form..wow, such a great publication--featured Katsuno, Cannelle, Durso's, Lydia shopping in Astoria--had no idea she still did this, recipes, and some really good market source tips..Hope it catches on--looks like they have a lot of advertisers who pay the cost--it says free on the issue, but inside there is a subscription rate..anyone know where else you can pick up a copy..it appears to be quarterly.
