tasty sandwiches @ nona mia (asheville)
i picked up a couple of really good sandwiches from nona mia for a picnic with my wife last week. i had the "italian" (house-roasted pork, prosciutto & salami w/ provolone, cherry peppers, lettuce, onion, tomato & vinaigrette) while my wife had the "balsamic chicken" (grilled balsamic chicken & prosciutto with artichokes, tomato, arugula, gorgonzola & rosemary-walnut aioli). both came on foccacia. very good, filling sandwiches. accompanied by a side of pasta salad. only possible complaint (and it's very minor) is that they're fairly sloppy sandwiches, so you might want a bib (especially for the chicken one) if you're in your office clothes (as my wife was - she tucked in a napkin and happily dug in). something like a ciabatta might serve the chicken better as it would envelope it more fully. regardless, taste-wise both were excellent.
