Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg Essentials

I'll have a few days in each city and would love to know what I must try--I'm open to anything but I'm mostly interested in local specialities... however common or unusual.

I just did a whirlwind tour of Calgary, Edmonton, and Saskatoon as I followed a musician and while I didn't spend a ton of time in Calgary or Saskatoon, there were some enjoyable spots (although they may not be essential). In Calgary I had a fantastic sushi lunch at Wa's, solid breakfast at Over Easy, and filled up on bagels at Montreal Bagels. I also completed an over caffeinated tour, visiting Kawa, Cafe Artigiano, and P&S. There are some serious coffee offerings in Ctown.

Saskatoon was very brief, but I enjoyed the experience at Jerry's Food Emporium for my breakfast.

Just as John needs more info for Calgary suggestions, I would ask for the same with regards to Edmonton's offerings.

Lots of food fit for a thereminist here in Calgary- where will you be staying? That might help us narrow things down for you.

Hahaha! When some people say "fit for a thereminist" that might be a bad thing... Anyway I know no particulars for my stay yet...
