Mother's Day

Hi all,

Just found out that my mom will be visiting me on Mother's Day this year. Does anyone have any outstanding brunch or dinner recommendations? Anyone know of places that do something special that day?

  1. Depending on your financial means I would start with Commander's Palace and work down to Delmonico's, Emeril's, Dantes, Luke, Antoine's, Brennan's, Galatoire's, Mr. B's, Muriel's and NOLA. Bon Appetit.

    Galatoire's Restaurant
209 Bourbon St., New Orleans, LA 70130

These are excellent recommendations. But no matter which one you choose make your reservations now.

I just changed our Mother's Day reservations at Commander's Palace to accommodate an afternoon tour. They said they could still do it, but are booking up fast. I highly recommend Commander's. It's one of my all-time favorite food experiences.

    2. Thanks, all. I would try for Commander's but took Mom there for Thanksgiving dinner on her last visit, and I want to give her a taste of other places too. As it's her last day in town, I'm thinking perhaps dinner at Dante's.

        Here'sa review of Dante's.

      2. Emeril's is definitely a great choice. They love moms over there; mine can't stay out of the place! And I live for the Sundays that Emeril's does brunch, since I work uptown and can never go in for lunch during the week. Darian's Chicken and Waffles are fantastic!

        1. We went out to Ralph's on the Park last mother's day, and it was excellent. It's in the same price range as the other classic restaurants listed in this thread, but the view (City Park) is lovely, and parking is usually not difficult (and it's free).
