Prime Rib, anyone?

Looking for restaurant in Manhattan that serves prime rib, but also has a variety of other entrees. Will be visiting NY in May from LA.

The best prime rib in the city is Old Homestead, slightly edging out Keens, Strip House and Smith and Wollensky also do great Prime rib as well.

Agree on Keen's; no doubt. Another classic is the Old Homestead (www.theoldhomesteadstakehouse.com); different , probably more interesting, nabe, and excellent PR. Make certain that you check the menus (citymenus.com) of some of the other steakhouses (e.g. Benson's, Luger, Sparks, etc.) if you decide to go there. Don't remember seeing PR on their menus lately. In any event, have a blast!!

Thanks for the recommendations. Keen's it will be for our annual prime rib fest. Not really comparing it to Lawry's as we have sampled all different LA restaurants for prime rib over the years. Actually like The Palm in LA for prime rib. Will report back on Keen's.

Second Old Homestead for PR only. But Keen's gets (and deserves) much more love on these boards in general.

Just out of curiosity, are you doing looking for prime rib as a comparison to Lawry's?

Another vote for Keen's. Excellent prime rib. Huge. Expensive. But very good.

Not sure if you are looking for a steak house, but Keen's has an incredible prime rib, and their steaks and mutton chop are also wonderful. Appetizers and sides are pretty good, but the meats are really what you go there for. Check out the menu on their website.
