Really Great Seafood-Not Sushi

We will be in Las Vegas in June and would love to go to a really great seafood restaurant for dinner (or a any restaurant that serves great seafood). We are staying at the Wynn and money is not a great concern. We are not that interested in sushi. Thanks!

If you are staying at the Wynn, it is difficult to beat Bartolotta right on the property, and if you are there on an evening that has reasonable temperatures, the outdoor cabana tables are among the nicest settings in Las Vegas. Also worth looking at RM Seafood (Mandalay Bay) and Michael Mina's new American Fish (Aria in City Center). Many of the other top tier restaurants will have some seafood dishes on their menu, but this gives you a good starting point for places that have a seafood-first focus. At another time we would also recommend Joe's in the Forum Shops at Caesar's, but the stone crabs will be out of season on your visit.

when is stone crab season? I'll be in Vegas over memorial day weekend and planned to have dinner @ Joe's one night, specifically to try the stone crabs. I searched their website but couldn't find this info anywhere, so I assumed they would be in season.

The legal season in Florida runs from October 15 - May 15. Joe's does keep frozen crabs on the menu through the summer, and while they are not as good, there is also a corresponding price adjustment. So it may work out OK for you. Even without having "fresh" crabs they do nice work with whatever is in season, and the service standards are among the very best of any Strip restaurant.

Buzio at Rio Suites has some of the freshest and most delicious seafood I have ever eaten. We always make a trip there while in Vegas.
