Good Chinese BBQ meat shops in S. Burnaby, SE Vancouver, Kingsway corridor ?

I commute between Metrotown and Cambie corridor.

Any tips on a decent/great BBQ shop along the Metrotown/Kingsway/King Edward corridors ?

I sometimes buy take-out from Top King BBQ in Crystal Mall (Delicious BBQ in the food court too pricey IMO). There's also Sampo at the SW corner of Kingsway & Knight, but their meats tend to be MSG'd and over-salted.

Any new options would be highly appreciated.

  1. How about Money BBQ on Fraser/49th? Perhaps too far outside your corridor.

Never heard of it, fmed. I shall check them out with diligence :-D

    2. I know the place has been discussed in detail on chowtimes, but Manila BBQ is the new place just off Joyce and Kingsway. However, I got the roast pork three times this week and the quality was like night and day--nice and crispy the first couple of times then soggy skin the next. They do ask if you want the roast pork Chinese or Filipino style now. And if you're willing to travel a bit further, at E.22 and Rupert is Chong Lee, a grocery place with cooked food and bbq at the back.

I recall the Chowtimes thread. It's a reasonable detour so like fmed's Money BBQ, I'll check these guys out too. Don't recall eating Filipino roast pork so I'm quite interested in getting both just for comparison's sake.

      2. lotusrapper: i believe the new place el lobo is referring to is actually IMMEDIATELY to the south ( west side joyce ) of the joyce skytrain station.
