Yountville report

Finally got reservations at the French Laundry and it didn't disappoint. Our server was fantastic, the food was as good as I expected and the atmosphere (we had a window table in a little room with 3 tables) was perfect. I can see why he's famous for the salmon cornets. Sommelier made a wine pairing for us that was fun and worked well. Tour of the kitchen afterwards (ok, they were all relaxing at 12:30am) All this being said, I think that the meal that we had at Madrona Manor in Healdsburg was almost, almost as good at half the price. But...now I know. Don't regret the meal for a minute.

Also ate at Keller's Bouchon, which we loved. Tried the duck and the shortribs (the duck won). Great time, would return. Also ate for 2nd time at Redd. Excellent food. Uninterested server and the table next to us had kids, so was not quite the dinner atmosphere we had hoped for. Have had a lunch there before with a group and it was great.
