I have Celiac and eat just about anywhere I want to in SF. Honestly, it isn't an issue. What is your price range, atmosphere, dinner, cuisine, etc? I am happy to offer some suggestions. Market street is a long street - what neighborhood? How far do you want to travel?

3rd and Market. Looking for lunch items and dinner items. Price range is pretty open.
If you say it's pretty easy, then I believe you. I'm from Austin and it's fairly easy here as well.
I likely won't eat vietnamese on this trip. I've always admired San Francisco's locally sourced options. Easy, fun, nice, great bar would be a huge plus. I do love my chopin vodka.

Almost all mid-range restaurants will do GF. Just call ahead.
Do a search for Union Square, but you have Gitane, Chez Papa, Perbacco, Barbacco, Amber India (not the best location of that restaurant, but some like it), Canteen (I have done breakfast there, but not other meals - but I bet they would accomodate). if you want to try it You can also search in SOMA, Civic Center, Mission (bart ride) if you are willing to travel some.
At the Ferry Building there is a Mariposa Bakery stand. I like their quick breads, but like their yeast breads less (others like them though). They also have brownies, cookies, muffins, bagels, etc. If you are there on a Saturday, definitely hit the farmer's market for fantastic food - Primavera is almost entirely GF and there are several other vendors that have GF options. Thursday noon may have some too, but i am less familiar with those options.

re: jsaimd
Great. Because I am extremely sensitive, I am looking for restaurants/take out locations that are dedicated gluten-free facilities, or dedicated cooking areas in shared facilities. I have found two so far (see below) Can you add any others?
Thanks!

"Currently we are not certified by a third party. However, I will look into it. When we mark items as gluten-free it means that we have no gluten products in the entrees. We are very careful about cross contamination and take this very seriously. The gluten-free baked items that we do sell are prepared with gluten-free kitchen appliances and baked in a gluten-free oven. The gluten-free meals are prepared in a shared facility and therefore are at risk for some cross contamination, but we believe it to be very minimal.
I have worked with many gluten-free clients with serious allergies, celiac and fibromyalgia. To date we have had no instances of those clients having a reaction to our gluten-free food or flair-ups related to our gluten-free foods. We hope you will stop by and try one of our entrees. "-

Cafe Gratitude is usually 100% GF.
Amici's has GF pizza as does Extreme pizza. Amici's does prepare theirs in a dedicated area but I don't know about Extreme (I am not a fan of either, but i am really picky).Mariposa bakery has a stand in the Ferry Building and they make a sandwich with Boccolone salumi. Primavera at the Ferry Building Saturday market also is almost 100% GF - check their menu. They have one sauce with Worcestershire in it and occasionally do beer battered fish. But most weeks their set-up is 100% GF.
