21st Birthday Dinner

Looking for some restaurant ideas for my 21st birthday for a small party of about 6. Cuisine cannot be any kind of East Asian, seafood, or burgers/fries. Location would preferably be downtown, but anywhere in Manhattan not higher than UES/UWS would be fine. Atmosphere should not be stuffy. Preferably catering to a young crowd, somewhat lively, but not so that you have to scream across the table. Ideally, 80% of entrees would not exceed $20.

Shake Shack and BLT fish are exactly what the poster didn't want-- burgers/fries and fish.

    2. Happy 21st Birthday! Bistrouge or Ponty Bistro are both great restaurants. They have a mix selection of food, a mellow atmosphere and most importantly, a long list of COCKTAILS!
