Albuquerque Sunday Night?

We'll be ending our Southwest road trip on a Sunday night in Albuquerque. Many of my area New Mexican or Mexican faves will be closed. Any suggestions for a good "last meal" before heading back to chile-less Boston? Anything with some good regional food on the menu would be appreciated. We'll be staying near the airport, but will have a car.

Many Thanks!

On the off chance you may decide for something other than New Mexican, might I suggest:

La Provence Brasserie in Nob Hill, just east of UNM. Wonderful food, great wines - their truffle fries are to die for!

I like "Mariscos Altimar" on Coors Rd. just south of I-40 on the right, real clean place and excellent service. (You may be chililess in Beantown but you've got whole belly fried clams. I can eat them 'til they come out of my ears, been 20 years since I've had some!)

From a former Bostonian to a current one, good for you on getting one last chile fix; we used to bring an extra suitcase and load it up with 40 lbs of frozen Hatch on our way home. A few Sunday ideas for you:

Garcia's - reliably very good low-frills NM food, added bonus of breakfast all day (the wife and I are suckers for huevos rancheros at dinner).

Frontier - just fast food and no alcohol, but inexpensive and tasty, with lots of local color. Great homemade flour tortillas for the burritos, also a fine place for a basic green chile cheeseburger, and great fries.

I think Sadie's is open too, although I think the only truly excellent thing on the menu is their green- or red-chile cheeseburger. Chips and salsa are always great (and very spicy!) as well.

When you get back to Boston, you should know that Wild Willy's in Watertown does a very respectable green chile cheeseburger with real Hatch green chile.

'sup Passa! Pretty sure Padilla's is only open on weekdays. Which is too bad because I agree the chow is among the best in the biz.
