Arlington - good eats near Parks at Arlington? Mexican or Italian?

Staying for business at the Holiday Inn Express by the mall and prefer not to eat at the Olive Garden across the street, LOL. Can't drive too far since I am short on time. Anything close to there that Hounds recommend?

Not searching for high-end, just some non-chain tasty Italian or Mexican (preferably Mexican, if pressed). Many thanks for any recs!

Glad you enjoyed it. I haven't been to the area in a long time so I am no good at any other recs. I had eaten at Mandola's in Austin and heard it was neat that's why I mentioned it. I do know there are lot's of places around there, mostly chains.

    2. Thai House Restaurant is one of the best Thai restaurants in North Texas IMHO (after trying many places in Dallas and comparing them to Thai House.) Thai House is at 3701 South Cooper. One of the great things about it is the beautiful, understated decor. The restaurant is spacious, tastefully decorated, and it's just relaxing to sit in there and chat with your company while you wait for your food and while you eat. It's a restaurant that exudes class and elegance, while being very reasonably priced. The corn cakes are a delicious appetizer-- here they prepare the cakes in a way that is light, not greasy as in other places that serve it. The curries are lovely, and they have fine desserts, like black rice pudding with mango. I wish I were eating there tonight!
