Flushing restaurant recommendations

My husband and I will be in Flushing this weekend for a wedding. It's been years since we've been to NYC and we've never been to this area. Any not-too-expensive recommendations for us? Maybe a place to get some good dim sum?
Thanks in advance!

When you say you'll be in Flushing does that mean you'll be staying at one of the hotels? Lots of choices, almost all Asian. Even the relatively higher end places are reasonable by any standard, so, for instance, money shouldn't be a reason to choose another Cantonese place over Imperial Palace.

Flushing is certainly the place to go for good and not-too-expensive eats. Still, what is your price range? Also cash is a must or preferred in most establishments there.

I recommend Jade Asian for dim sum. You may also want to consider Ocean Jewel- I haven't been here in years but I still see a lot of people going there for dim sum.

For Cantonese cuisine, Imperial Palace for sure, but Canton Gourmet may be had for a few $ less. For Szechuan cuisine I prefer Szechuan Gourmet, but a lot of people here prefer Little Pepper and it's also cheaper. I believe all these places have lunch specials.

      Good luck!

Try the Curry Leaves for authentic Malaysian food. They have not altered the recipes and the food is excellent and cheap.

            Hi dafood,

Wherever you go, I recommend using the 7 train and not driving into Downtown Flushing.

Recommendation Tsunami spotted and quickly approaching...

If you like spicy noodles and broth that is flavorful you should really drive into Flushing to check out Cuury Leaves.

I actually always drive into Flushing. All you have to do is park above Northern Blvd and then walk south to Downtown Flushing.

                  Thanks j0cy0223!

I'll have to check that out. I've often struggled in parts east of downtown and had to walk a good 10 to 15 minutes to get to the center. Next time I'll try points north.
