Picked a bag of ramps (wild leeks) this afternoon and also stumbled on 2 tiny morels! I hated to pick the morels but if I left them to grow someone else would surely have noticed and then I'd have competition for my secret spot. They're way too early - maybe just a fluke anyway.

But the ramps are totally ready. So check your patch or your market if you're interested. (I'm just SW of Peterborough.)

Picked some up at the P.A.T. (Korean supermarket) on Bloor today. They had bunches for 1.99 and packages of trimmed smaller plants for 2.99.

The forest by my house had 'em for free. ;-) now if only I culd find some morels.

Found two a couple of days ago but really it's WAY too early for them. We need a week or two of heat for the ground to warm up for morels.

They were at P.A.T. on Lawrence just west of Warden today for 2.49 a bunch (if I remember the price correctly).

Location determines price it seems. The P.A.T. on Bloor still has them for 1.99 a bunch. Think I'll whip up some ramp pesto tomorrow.

Picked up two bunches from SLM this afternoon. $1.99 a bunch. They look good.
