Lunch / Brunch restaurants in Laguna Beach -- gluten-free/vegetarian options (Mother's Day)
Hi -
We will be in Laguna Beach over Mother's Day and wonder if you have any suggestions for lunch or brunch in that area? We will have my mother with us (and some children) so nothing too pricey or stuffy.
My husband and I are gluten-free/vegetarian so it makes things a little more difficult for us, although we try to make do with most menus...
Also - do you have any good recommendations for lunch places in Laguna? We'll be there for about 5 days and want to stay put (not drive too far).
Thanks for any and all help!

Zinc Cafe probably has gluten free items, The whole menu is vegetarian, so at least that will be covered. It has a nice patio, but it does get crowded and you order at a counter.
The Cottage is nice for breakfast and lunch for the eggs, though a lot of what I order there is wheat based. Coyote Grill in South Laguna has good Mexican food. I usually order the enchiladas and eggs, but I don't know if they use corn or wheat tortillas. Mosun on PCH is a fun sushi place. Not the best, but I like the rolls there.
There is also La Sirena Grill. Ive eaten there once and was underwhelmed, but other seem to like it and it does have veggie options, so when you are looking for a week's worth of options, this should make the cut. My last option is Laguna Thai by the Sea. Small but friendly. I think you can get veggie options there, but you might want to double check that one.

here are a few places to look into;
Orange Hill http://theorangehillrestaurant.com
Mozambique Steakhouse
Lucca Cafe
Surf and Sand Resortwere I you, since I am gluten/dairy/yeast free, I'd be looking for places that have omelette stations and such, as well as buffets. the fixed menus are usually most difficult because they (a) don't do substitutions on special occasions and (b) are creating menus diverse enough to please palates, without much concern for allergy/distaste.
have fun!
