Staying at the Bethesda Marriott- Need restaurant recs
NY Chowhounds are visitng with a car and would love restaurant suggestions that include fish or shellfish. We love all ethnic foods and are open for 3 nights of bookings. Are there any BYOB restaurants in the area?
We prefer to spend about $40 pp- no dessert- and could splurge for a special place. We are also steak eaters so if one of the big prime steak chains has a good locatiion, please let us know.
Thanks, in advance, for your help!
Since you'll be driving wherever you go (The Marriott is in a strange location), it's easier to suggest you move around a bit.
Addies and Black's Market Bistro are both close to your hotel, solid overall and do a nice job with their fish and shellfish offerings. In the district, there's Pesce and Hank's Oyster Bar for reliable fish/seafood.
For Thai, Navi and Ruan are both in Wheaton that's just a short trip away. For steak, there's Rays the Classics in Silver Spring. Also in SS is the old, old-school seafood place Crisfield, but it's been too long for a rec here.

Any maybe to clarify exactly the hotel. The Bethesda Marriott by proper name is at Pooks Hill and if that's the case repete is right about needing to drive. There are a couple of Marriotts in walkable Bethesda (held my wife's Grad party at one of them). Those are walk friendly and metro friendly.
And for recs, I like repete's. Strong second for Addie's. I would also throw in Joe's Noodle House for some excellent Sichuan fare, or get over to Wheaton which is a mecca of incredible ethnic fare. The Thai places repete mentioned, but also great Central and South American, like El Pulgarcito or Peruvian Chicken like El Pollo Rico (or the schwarma or felafel at Max's).
