Savannah dinner recommendation
My wife and I are going to Savannah for the weekend for our anniversary. We're planning on dinner at Elizabeth on 37th one of the two nights. Based on previous reviews, I'm debating between Noble Fare, Sapphire Grill and Vic's on the River for the other night. Any thoughts on the best choice (or other suggestions)?

re: LGD
We ended up going to Elizabeth on 37th and Vic's on the River. Vic's was good, not great, although it worked out really well given our location and itinerary that day. Both my wife and I thought Elizabeth was fantastic. I had no problems with the service - in fact, they brought me a couple of small appetizer items on the house once the waiter realized I had a shellfish allergy and couldn't share my wife's shrimp appetizer (which she said was spectacular). Everything we had there was great. The pecan pie with almonds was one of the best versions of that dessert I've had. We would definitely go back anytime we're in Savannah.

Wilson, your selection of Elizabeth's marks you as a man of keen discernment and excellent taste. Well done. Now that we understand each other, dinner number 2 should be at Noble Fare. The Olde Pink House, Garibaldi's, and Local 11Ten are excellent restaurants, but I would save them - in no particular order - for the third, fourth, and fifth nights of your weekend. Happy Anniversary to you both, and I hope you have a great time in this most beautiful of cities.

While I am only an occasional visitor to Savannah, I can highly recommend Local 11Ten for a wonderful meal, great service, and a cool atmosphere (an old bank building near Forsyth Park). It is a must-do whenever I am in town. If you go, try the quail appetizer and don't skip dessert. Have a great trip!
