Toronto recommendations (2010)?
I'm here for a few days. Last night I ate at Chicken's Nest, which served up decent chicken soup and a merguez sandwich. But I hadn't eaten all day, so anything would have been good.
Any other recommendations? A previous thread mentioned three Israeli-type places in the Bathurst/Steeles area - Hakotel, Hamizrach, and Hamivgash. What do people think of these? Have any recently gone up or down in quality? Which of the three is the best?
No trip to Toronto is complete without the Onion Soup at Bistro Grande (Dairy) on Eglington Ave!
Tov Li on Bathurst south of Steeles in Cedarhurst Plaza has been around for a very long time. They have great falafel, soups and other dairy meals. Hakotel has good Shawarma. You should not leave Toronto without eating a cheese bun from My Zaidy's Bakery (Bathurst north of Steeles). Miami Grill is consistently above average, and has also withstood the test of time. I have also heard good things about Umami.
