Cheesecake in OC

I haven't seen a thread specifically about cheesecake, but I had some recently that I fell in love with. Was at Mascarpone's in Orange for dinner and heard about the homemade cheesecakes the owner's wife makes. Man, it was fantastic! It was so light, fluffy, and almost mousse-like and not at all dense like your normal cheesecakes. In fact, it's so fluffy and light, the middle of the cheesecake is practically falling over itself, it has a lot of height. Big portion, with great graham cracker crust.

Any other ethereal cheesecakes in OC?

Cream Pan, IIRC, has nice, fluffly light cheesecakes.

The food was ok, nothing spectacular. I had a pasta with chicken, pancetta, peas, and their mascarpone sauce which was pretty rich. The guy had a filet with a cognac sauce, sauce was actually very good, but the side of pasta and veggies were merely and afterthought. Classic, old school family run italian joint - with dated decor included. I feel the cheesecake really is where they shine and makes them a little different.

I enjoyed the boysenberry, fruit tends to compliment the tangy, sweet cheesecake better than chocolate, IMO. They had a few options when I was there, but we only had the boysenberry. Please do report back on whether or not you like it.

I would think so, went for dinner, but it looks like they are open for lunch. You can call them (714) 633-0101.
