Where to buy preserved lemon?

I'm making a barley w/ preserved lemon and goat cheese side dish. . .

I'm an Upper West Sider

    You can get them at Fairway. But they're about the easiest thing on earth to make yourself. Cut two lemons into eight pieces. Place in a glass jar with a half cup of coarse sea salt and about the same amount of lemon juice and cover.. Shake the jar once a day. They're usually ready in about 10-14 days.

      Ann, thank you so much! i will definitely go about making them myself. i had the most wonderful sandwich with preserved lemon on it - a perfect way to jazz up the daily sandwich.

        I'm glad I could help- I love to use preserved lemons Last night I made one of my favorite recipes - a great chicken dish with white wine and preserved lemons- from the Patricia Wells Provence cookbook-.
