Mexico on the Square - Pine and 15th

I had high hopes for this place as their previous incarnation as Savoy won some Philadelphia Weekly best in Philly award. Unfortunately, I just had a terrible al pastor burrito from here. Dry and bland meat and a dry tortilla. The green salsa offered on the side helped somewhat.

To top it off, I saw a woman who I assume to be the owner yelling at the line cook in front of everyone waiting for their food.

Can't imagine I'll be back.

Too bad - I've been there twice and very happy both times. Pork Torta first. Two chorizo sopes yesterday. Good flavors, not dry at all and very pleasant people behind the counter.

I had a great lunch there the week they re-opened. My only complaint was that it took for.ev.er... But that aside, had two tacos-- pollo and carne asada, and found them both delish. I probably liked the chicken more, and still need to try to the pork.
