It's called Taqueria La Guadalupana - it's a market and has a nice menu. I got beef quesadillas with re fried beans, rice and salad - very good stuff. Can't wait to try more. Everything is homemade, while I waited they gave me some home mades tortilla chips and salsa which were excellent. There are a couple tables but it's mostly a market. The guy next to me was eating a seafood ceviche which looked fantastic, then got a tripe soup (menudo)?? which looked excellent as well.

Has anyone else been?

Where on Valley Street? We finally visited Saigon Market, and on the way home noticed lots of hispanic markets and restos, which we have to try. BTW, did you see the NYT piece on HK? Also, had a great time in NOLA--what a town!

it's just after Cypress St on the right, going east on Valley (several blocks from Wilson St and StopnShop). Real hole in the wall but great flavors. Yes, my son was heading to Tokyo when the article came out. They retracted their address :-) They are booked solid til Sept.

did you post about NOLA?? I'll have to search, life has been crazy wiht a 3 rm renovation going on. I just love NOLA - people, food, music. Where did you eat?

LOL--did not have the energy to do a full-on NOLA post so it's coming out as replies to other posts. Do try Caribbean Affair on Elm Street--it's fun and delicious. Have you been to A Market on S. Willow? They have an amazing caramel-sea salt gelato.

I have been going to A Market since the early 80's when I was in the grocery industry and traveled the state. back then it was down a quiet street. LOL I have a lil background in health food store arena and would stop at them all in my travels. I'll have to try that gelato, I just picked up a big box of lemon gelato from BJ's and was pleasantly surprised when I thought I had bought lemon ice.

I'll have to try Caribbean Affair - love Bahamian food, must be similar

Four of us stopped in today for lunch and also found the food to be fantastic! Ordered were....seafood ceviche tostado, Chicken Burrito, Chorizo tacos, Chile Rellenos and Carnitas tacos...the latter two coming with rice, beans and guacamole. Also, Complimentary Chips and salsa. The corn tortillas are home made...chips freshly fried...really good stuff folks!

Yayyy!!! We had dinner tonight and loved that seafood ceviche tostado too. We also got both beef and chicken gorditas - soooooo tasty. I'm looking forward to the chile rellenos next time.

There's an article in this week's Hippo Press. They deliver and here's the website: http://www.taquerialaguadalupana.com/

There's another article about a place called Begy's Taqueria at 310 Maple St.
