Hi. I was looking to have a pig roast in Union, NJ, and I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions/recommendations? Thanks!

I saw a posting for Chuck's Wagon earlier today, which I no longer see in the thread; perhaps because it was posted by Chuck himself and it appeared self serving. However, I'll vouch for Chuck's, and I'm a regular (though sporadic) Chowhound contributor. I've been to bbq's where Chuck's did the cooking and they do a great job with both the food and service. http://www.chuckswagonbbq.com/

Not sure if you're interested in BBQ, but if so, contact Fink: http://www.finksfunky.net/

Check out Grub Hut in Manville.

They'll do an onsite whole pig roast - see pg4 of their menu:

You might be able to use them:

A couple of locations throughout NJ, one of their locations is Leo's BBQ in South Plainfield which I've heard relatively good things about. They specialize in catering and I know they serve whole roasted big but I'm not sure if they do it on site.

            Or you can try:

Depends on what you mean by pig roast. Lutz's Pork Store will rent out a smoker, and send guys over to run it, to do a German-style pig roast for you. If you want crispy Portuguese-style pig, check with the local Portuguese restaurants.

Green Village Packing in Green Village does this (next town over from Madison).

I don't know if they go that far, but I have heard the pig roast is excellent from Rode's. You can always give them a call to see if they travel. I have had their pulled pork and it was excellent.

Yes, I did see that. I'm looking for one that can be done onsite in a backyard.
