Estates of Sunnybrook red wine recommendations? Please help!

Has anyone held an event at Vaughn estates or Mclean house? Trying to decide on a red wine to serve at our wedding. We had a chance to taste a few of the wines they offer and thought they were awful. Don't want to spend over $50/bottle.

I don't live in Toronto, so won't have a chance to taste any more before the event. Unfortunately, most of the wines they offer aren't available in stores or online, so we only have the venues reviews to go on!

Any recommendations greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Hmmm. Your question is really quite impossible to answer. If you are looking to match a wine to your dinner, it would really help to know the mains you have chosen. On the other hand, if you are simply looking for a sipping wine... different story.

I am by no means a wine connoisseur - My Wife and I got married at the Vaughn estates, we did a Sunday Morning Brunch and we selected the Chilean La Palma Cabernet Sauvignon. We got no complaints, not that anyone would have come to tell us on our wedding day how bad the wine was!

looking at their list, the butterfield merlot is probably the best bet (without knowing your menu) as the remainder of the wines tend to be quite high in their acidity, this merlot and its region tend to product rounder wines that appeal to most palates

Thanks for the suggestion. We did find the wines we tried terribly acidic.
