Can you give us any more information on price point or atmosphere?

Italian - Mistura if you're in a budget busting mood, Buca for something more casual, Tutti Matti for authentic Tuscan with a bistro-y feel. I like L'Unita too.

Tapas - Torito for the real-deal Spanish version (others like Cava, but I can't report firsthand). If you mean small plates then I like Colborne Lane for the high end experience (and his more casual sister resto Origin is getting great buzz), and Nyood.

I can't think of anything organic California style in Toronto, but if you're primarily concerned with local/seasonal focus then you could look to Wine Bar (formerly JKWB), Cowbell, and Local Kitchen and Wine Bar.

I'd stay clear of Spanish in Toronto. Try 7 numbers Italian on Danforth:

      Their Osso Bucco is amazing!

        For tapas:

I highly recommend Embrujo Flamenco Restaurant at Danforth & Broadview. There is a free Flamenco show on the weekends and their sangria is the absolute best in Toronto. I am a big fan of their paellas that are cooked to order.

Torito is a bit more casual, but their food has always been consistent and delicious. They are in Kensington Market.
