New Hope/Lambertville for a party

I am planning a birthday party weekend in New Hope with approximately 15-20 persons, during August (yes, I am planning well in advance!). Looking for restaurants for Friday and Saturday evening. I have checked out the reviews of New Hope and Lambertville restaurants and am considering between Tastebuds in New Hope and Manon, No 9, Hamilton Grill Room and Lilys in Lambertville. The age range of the group is 30s and 40s. Any suggestions on whether any of these would work for a group of that size? Thanks in advance!

  1. Tastebuds has a private room that could probably accomodate all of you. I think No. 9 would be tough, but doable if you book well in advance. Manon would be doable too I think down the left hand wall. Hamilton Grill Room would be doable also, and Lily's could probably accomodate you as well. I think you'll be fine at any of them so long as you book far enough in advance. Out of the 5 that you listed, I would choose Tastebuds and Manon, but that is just me. -mJ

    1. Hamilton's Grill Room has three rooms of seating indoors and outdoor seating during the warmer months. A phone call there this early in the game might land you seating for your entire group. It is certainly considered by most to be Lambertville's best, although it has become a bit pricey through the years.

I have booked a dining room at the Inn at Phillips Mill in New Hope for family events.
They do take great effort to seat your entire party in its own room and away from the rest of their diners. There is a large table in the library at Phillips Mill that seats 12-15.
While this would not be my first choice in terms of quality of food (the food here was cutting edge in the late 70s and early 80s. Now it is a bit tired, although passable), the ambiance here is wonderful for such an event.

A few miles up river from Lambertville is Via Ponte, which prepares very nice Sicilian/Southern Italian cuisine and has a gas-burning pizza oven. I'm sure the owners would be glad to accommodate an event for you.

You can search Chowhound for reviews on each of the three restaurants I discussed.
All are BYO, a big plus in terms of cost.
