weekend lunch
I'm heading to Boston and will only have about 30 hours to enjoy the city this go round. I'll be there for a bday dinner so I only have time for 2 lunches.
Any must do's? I'm thinking that one day should be for chowder, clams and lobster rolls (B&G Oysters?) and doing the North End or Newberry area for another but open to any and all suggestions.
I'll be there on a Sat/Sun if that matters and staying in Beacon Hill (not locked into that area though)
Thanks in advance

I ended up going to Neptune Oyster Bar on Saturday and B&G Oyster on Sunday. Both were great. Loved the warm lobster roll at Neptune's as well as the Neptune's om Piggyback. The lobster roll at B&G was also very good. Both had great oysters.

Check out Gallaria Umberto in the North End for lunch (Sat only, closed Sunday). Very cheap, good eats, and if you go to Neptune on Sunday, the costs will even out!

re: The Chowfather
Many restaurants in the area serve brunch on Sat/Sun. On Sat, Union and Aquitaine in the South End have prix-fix brunch deals ($9.95) that are quite good. On Beacon Hill, Beacon Hill Bistro is good.

re: The Chowfather
I've never had to wait long for lunch at Neptune's. Dinner on weekends is a different story, you need to go early. Anyway, I'd take that as your best option for a chowder/lobster roll/clams lunch AND spending time in the North End and then do a few more searches on this board for your other meal. If you like Mexican, Angela's in East Boston is a huge favorite on this board and a short walk from the subway. (Blue Line)
