Any quiet family style restaurant early Saturday evening?

Hi everyone

I'm delighted to say that we'll be back in NYC in October, this time with various family members in tow aged between 16 - 68!

Looking for a good place for us to eat Sat night, anywhere between the financial district and times square area.

American cuisine preferred - perhaps a good diner or diner type place with a wide menu would suit us best. Someplace that won't be bursting at the seams at around 6pm - 7pm.

Other cuisines could include Italian, BBQ, steakhouse.

Thanks

How large a party will you have? What's your maximum budget per person? Please make sure you include tax, tip, and drinks/wine. Do note that if your party is large enough, some restaurants will impose a prix fixe menu.

Sorry Kathryn, I should know better :-)

Just an entree each, no alcohol. Looking to pay around $30 each. There will be 6 of us.

      Thanks

You're welcome! And when you say "family style" you mean "family friendly," not that you want to order a bunch of dishes to share, correct?

How quiet is quiet? Do you mean you require a low noise level? Or somewhere more relaxed and not insanely crowded?

Would somewhere like Blue Ribbon Bakery fit the bill? I've definitely done parties of 6+ there before and sometimes they're able to seat you in a nook or corner and/or at a round table. The food is a little eclectic but American comfort food-based, with a little bit of an upscale twist and their entrees are all around $30.
