Fluffernutter custard at Shake Shack

I'm just curious if anyone has tried this and what your opinion of it was. Is it worth a detour to check out? If I do go I'll probably try a Shack Stack as well, the pictures online are just too enticing.

Thanks.

If I am recalling correctly, the regular everyday custard is just called Peanut Butter. But the special fluffernutter custard is one of the day-of-the-week specials -- maybe Friday (not positive). I haven't had either, so I can't help you there. (The most recent of the specials that I had was in March and it had pieces of donuts in it - awesome.)

You are correct, it is Friday, which is when we so we could specifically try the Fluffernutter. Again, I'm certainly willing to bet it's a PB custard with marshmallow creme mixed in, and since we had such a small tasting that we simply got the PB custard and no marshmallow.

I agree that the marshmellow isn't a strong presence, although we got it as a sundae, and so the whipped cream may have hid it some, too. Still, the custard was very good, with a nice amount of salt to balance the sweet.

We tried it, and quite liked it. I don't think I could tell anyone to make some massive trip for it, but if you're in the area it's quite worth getting a sample at least.

I will say, though, that it tasted more like just a peanut butter custard, than a fluffernutter. A really good PB, but just PB. My only thought is that perhaps they incorporate marshmallow into the custard, but because we just tried a sample we didn't get any.
