Pelagos

Had dinner at Pelagos on Tamiami just south of the Hilton. Quite good. Everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. Dolmades were well done, salads were great. Egg lemon soup was lovely-needed a little more rice. I had tillapia, Mediterranean style with lots of vegetable, olives, etc. over rice. Lovely. My husband had the gyros platter, which was good, but could have been sliced thinner. Nice touch is grilled pita with cucumber sauce when you sit down. Limited wine & beer.

I do like Pelagos...I used to love their falafel pitas (but now I love Falafel Grill for that...the pita is a pocket vs. the big doughy thing at Pelagos...just a dietary pref)...but never understood the optional side at Pelagos of either French Fries or Black beans and rice...? WTF? There ought to be a side of Greek salad...oh, well.....haven't eaten there in a long time because I work farther away now but I know many of my co-workers at our Parkshore office do love Pelagos for lunch!

They must have heard because dinners come with Greek salad or soup!

hmmmm...but not the lunch...LOL, believe me, I've tried and tried to tell them, "you really should offer a Greek salad as a side for the falafel instead of this nonsense French Fries or BB and rice"--nobody needs all those calories!....just got a blank stare..no worries. They do offer good Greek foods! But, for $4.95 at Falafel Grill, I can obtain just what I want...Falafel pita...no sides, done deal.
