Good ethnic buffets?

I am looking for a good centrally located ethnic buffet to take my meetup group to for lunch or dinner. Buffets that came to mind are Holyland, Marina Grill.

I'm a big fan of the lunch buffet at Everest on Grand in St. Paul. Limited choices, but it's all quite unique and for the most part delicious and fresh.

Here's a link to the buffet menu:

Maybe you should check the Khyber Pass buffet. I haven't tried it but stopped in one day at lunch. The buffet looked and smelled wonderful. Maybe someone has tried it.

The room was quiet and inviting that day. Good for a group, I would think.

i would suggest the midtown global market...lots of options, all counter service style, just not all you can eat...

I have always liked the buffet at Boca Chica.

Can anyone comment on Himalayan's buffet? http://www.himalayanmomo.com/

Yes, I really like the Himalayan's buffet. It is small but it has everything you need. I went there just a couple of weeks ago. There's a soup, appetizer (vegetable pakoras when I went), two meat entrees, two vegetarian entrees, salad, bread, chutneys and rice pudding for dessert. I believe it's $7.75/person. I have never had a bad meal there.

The Khyber Pass lunch buffet is also a good choice for a small but tasty buffet. I have been there at least three times and it also has always been good and fresh.

Finding a truly good buffet is not easy...I wouldn't recommend 99 Pounds, for example, unless your goal was just to eat as much as possible.

My husband and I looove the buffet at the Himalayan. It's not large, but ditto what Quince said -- it has everything you need. The down side it that it isn't a big room. If you have a large crowd, go later or make reservations.

We also like Gandhi Mahal. Solid food, space that can accommodate a larger group easily.

Both places have the most lovely owners, and we've never had a bad experience at either.

They have my very favorite buffet. It usually has their soup with black-eyed peas and bamboo shoots (don't remember what it's called), which is extremely delicious. Last time they went it was a little low on vegetarian items, but usually it's a good balance with something for everyone.

Both Holy Lands are good choices, as is India Palace in Roseville for lunch.

Or, if you are looking for an ethnic buffet that is convenient in the Twin Cities, there are about 638 Chinese buffets and the occasional Thai, Vietnamese or other Asian buffet from which to choose on every fifth block.

I believe the OP wanted a recommendation for a GOOD buffet. I like Bombay Bistro downtown Mpls. Also have heard Gandhi Mahal is good.
