South Beach Cuban Food

Rippin200 Apr 9, 2010 08:49 AM

Hello All,

I am going to be traveling to South Beach and staying on Ocean drive at the end of April. I am looking for some great cuban food and seafood restaurants in walking distance. If it makes a difference I will be staying at the colony hotel. Thanks in andvance!

Lario's on the Beach aka Bongo's is owned by the Estefans and is, IMHO, THE BEST CUBAN #4# on the Beach. 1/2 block north of your hotel on 8th and Ocean Drive. I just had a Vaca Frita (Fried Cow) there the other nite and it was fabulicious!

Went to Cha Cha Cha Grill on 15th just off of Alton Road. Simple, good food cooked rather healthily. Not greasy, not overly salted with me being able to get a side of grilled veggies with my Vaca Frita. Really enjoyed the food there. The bean soup of the day, gallega I think, was very, very good.
