Upscale Vegetarian-Friendly in Santa Monica Area

I'm looking for an upscale, vegetarian-friendly restaurant in the Santa Monica area to take a client to. Any kind of cuisine will do. Surrounding, immediate areas to Santa Monica will also do if that expands the range of places available to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Fraiche has a lot of vegetarian offerings.

Mélisse, Josie, or Jiraffe would probably be common responses, and I don't think you'd be unhappy at any of those. I've been to Mélisse and Jiraffe but never Josie. Mélisse will do a vegetarian or vegan tasting menu, and Jiraffe has been reasonably accommodating of vegan (and thus certainly vegetarian) diners.

If it's not too far, I cannot recommend Sona highly enough - I went there recently, and we had one vegan tasting menu and one omnivorous one, and both were excellent (though I would have preferred one more savory course rather than 2 dessert courses).

Akasha (in Culver City) might qualify, for something a little less high-end.

was thinking Akasha too, but not sure how upscale is desired...

i agree that any of the above high end places would be fine... i'd also throw in a vote for Wilshire. and in venice, Gjelina!

i have been to Melisse with vegetarians and vegans alike and they were extremely accomodating and everything is delicious! service is impeccable a la ritz style service, as well.
