Unique Restaurants in Naples

BalmerBoy Apr 8, 2010 07:31 AM

I'm traveling down to Naples in two weeks with my wife for a conference, and am looking for unique restaurants in Naples. There are excellent Mexican, French, Italian, etc. restaurants pretty much in every major city. I'm looking for restaurants you don't easily find elsewhere. Thanks!

BB, do you consider Peruvian unique? We have a great Peruvian restaurant here called Inca's Kitchen....stellar food and very consistent.

Yeah I looked through the forums here and saw that one and I'll probably be going there. Looks pretty fun. :)

IM Tapas would be another interesting pick. You don't find tapas everywhere and this is at least as good as I've had in Chicago and San Francisco.

Angelina's, in Bonita Springs, is Italian but is the closest I've had to food you find in Italy. Bucatini amitriciana and spaghetti carbonara taste like versions I ate in Rome. I've never found that anywhere in American Italian restaurants. Their other food is just as good, especially a whole snapper baked in salt. The owner is a former ceo of Perkins and loves Italy.

Bha Bha!, a "Persian bistro", is pretty unique. The food is unusual and delicious, using interesting combinations or herbs, yogurt, nuts, and spices. I have not found another place quite like this. It located in a strip mall in North Naples (847 Vanderbilt Beach Rd; (239) 594-5557) but it's very nicely decorated and the service is good. It's not cheap but it's worth it, it in my opinion.
