Jaynes Gastropub Good News

I just heard that from a reliable source that Jaynes Gastropub will now have a full bar starting on Friday.

Great news.

You heard it here first.

I was at Jaynes last night, and the hostess confirmed that this is so. She said they are now in the process of stocking their bar and coming up with a drink list.

What did the server say when you pointed out the missing cheese?

                "oops!" *uncomfortable laugh*

The second time: "are you sure cheese isn't on there? Isn't that cheese? Hmm" Me: "No, that is melted butter". Points down the bar - "That is one with cheese on it!"

Ah well. Maybe they will read this and get a Grilled Cheese Inspection Team together.

Jon here from Jaynes. I know this thread is supposed to be about our liquor license, but somehow a botched grilled cheese sandwich got thrown in the mix. Let me clarify. A ways back there was a Green Flash 30th Street Pale Ale beer night where the street's restaurants offered this beer paired with a small plate for something like 8 bucks. It was a hugely successful event, but all of the restaurants involved were overwhelmed by the unexpected numbers. We have a small restaurant, and trying to do quadruple the volume at the same quality is impossible. Yes it is humanly possible to forget a piece of cheese when being forced to work in assembly line fashion. This is not how we normally work. Since this event we have seriously retooled how we approach these events. We also give much more consideration as to whether we will do these mass events at all since we always want to put our best product forward. I hope people will take this into consideration.
