Need Chinese Rest in MoCo with Party Room; prefer Silver Spring

Hi. I can't seem to find an Asian restaurant in the Silver Spring area with a party room for a Friday night dinner for family, etc. before a bat mitzvah in June. Needs to hold 25-40 people. Ideas welcome. Thanks.

  1. While not Silver Spring, close by is Mei Wah in Chevy Chase which has a lovely party room and I often saw it reserved/in use and it always looked lovely. Plus, their food is goooood.

    1. Does the newly reopened Hollywood East in Wheaton have private rooms?

      1. Not in Silver Spring but Tony Lin's in Rockville (355 & Randolph/Montrose Rd) is pretty easy to get to. They have a private room and I like their food.

I think 25 is stretching it for Tony Lin's rooms, much less 40.

        2. Not Silver Spring, but Seven Seas in Rockville has a party room worth looking into. Can't remember exactly how big it is, though.

          1. Try Asian Delight, a new restaurant (11305 Lockwood Drive) just off of New Hampshire Road and across the street from the White Oak shopping center. It is beautiful inside and it has 3 private party rooms downstairs. I toured it a couple of weeks ago. The owner was happy to show me. Dinner there was outstanding, particularly a Chinese beef dish, and the fresh lobster (right from the wall-mounted water tank) was the best I've had since the Maine lobsterfest. The menu is varied and features some adventurous dishes among a large number of standards. I will be having a party there in the future. Mazel tov!
