Current live Dungeness crab situation in Half Moon Bay

There seemed to be plenty at about 4.50 per lb a couple of weekends ago- does anyone know how plentiful they are right now? Any great East Bay sources currently?

Thanks, everyone. I'll try the harbor master. That had not occurred to me.

For what it's worth, Hudson Fish stopped setting traps last week because they weren't pulling up enough crabs. They operate out of HMB.

I was at Ranch 99 in Richmond last Sunday and the tanks were empty. The previous weekend they were either $5.99 or $6.99 a lb.

If you want the most current information, you should call the harbor master's office. In the East Bay, you can usually find live crab in Chinatown or in the bigger Asian markets (like 99 Ranch). However, this time of year they're probably not local (you can try asking, of course).
